Sustainable & Organic Bikinis — Merino Wool, Tencel & Bamboo

Yes. Merino wool is naturally moisture-wicking, quick-drying, and odor-resistant, which makes it a strong performance fiber for swimwear, not just cold-weather layers. It also resists holding onto water smell better than most synthetics.

Tencel is a brand name for lyocell, a fiber made from wood pulp (often eucalyptus) through a closed-loop process that recycles the water and solvents used in production. When blended with cotton, as ours are, bamboo fabric holds up well to regular wear and is easy to care for. Like most natural-fiber swimwear, it's best rinsed after saltwater exposure to extend its life.

We use merino wool because it is the quickest drying natural fiber fabric available but the cost is much higher compared to others so we use Bamboo or Tencel /Organic Cotton blend because it cost less and offers a moderate dry time but is very comfortable. Organic cotton is a nice soft natural fiber fabric but it doesn't dry as fast a merino wool, Tencel or bamboo, this is why we use blends with ether Tencel or Bamboo. You get the softness cotton and quicker drying effects of Tencel and bamboo.
