I’ve never purchased anything online before. What kind of payments do you accept? Will my information be safe?

Your information is absolutely safe when you order online from us, as our webstore has an SSL certificate that uses industry standard 128 bit encryption technology. This is the same level of encryption used by large banks to keep your information secure. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal. Please note that American Express and Discover are to be utilized by clicking on the “PayPal” option, upon checkout. PayPal is a secure payment option, which prides itself on being “the safer, easier way to pay”. You can read about PayPal’s safety guarantees here.

How do I know what size to order?

You can find our sizing chart here. We get that clothes aren’t always an exact science, so if something that you’ve ordered doesn’t fit quite the way you would like it to, please contact us for instructions on how to exchange for the size that best suits your body! Here is our return policy.

I really liked something that I saw but it says “SOLD OUT”… what does this mean?

Sometimes this simply means that the item was such a big hit & they were all scooped up in an online buying-frenzy, and we plan to restock the item as soon as possible. If that is the case, you will find a message under the description of the item that explains when we plan to have it back in stock.However, as we are also constantly working hard to stay dynamic and ahead of the fashion trends, we often discontinue items that we feel have run their course and we, therefore, will no longer be stocking these items. In that case, you will not find any updates on re-stocking plans and we will remove the item from our webstore when all of the sizes have been sold out. If you would like to stay in the loop about our newest additions and see who’s wearing what, be sure to “like” us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram to keep up-to-date with these items the minute they hit the shelves.

Why is my promotional code not working?

Occasionally Public Myth will offer promotional discounts via the use of temporary codes. If you feel your code has expired prematurely, please contact our customer care team by email. Public Myth reserves the right to discontinue promotional codes at any time if we discover that the intended purpose of the code has been abused or exploited.  Submitting Public Myth discount codes to third party coupon-sharing websites, sharing codes in broadcast email campaigns or posting these codes on any third party online platform, without expressed permission of Public Myth, will result in immediate discontinuance of the code.

I get a “gateway error” error message when I try to checkout online… what should I do?

If you are using an American Express or Discover card, please be advised that you’ll need to checkout through the PayPal option in order to use these. All other inquiries about this error must be directed to your banking institute, as the error message is coming from something that is happening on their side (ie: declined card, security breach, systems down, etc.)

Can I cancel/change my order after I’ve paid for it?

As we like to prepare and ship our orders as soon as they are placed (sometimes they are literally packaged & shipped out the door within minutes of our receiving the order), it is imperative that you phone us (604-737-8565) as soon as you realize that a change needs to be made. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate your change/cancellation after your order has been placed.

Can I add something to my order after I’ve paid for it?

If you just couldn’t help yourself from shopping a little bit more after you placed your initial order with us, and found something that you “just have to have”… you may be able to get your additional items packed in together and save on the second set of shipping (if you act quickly), as we will be shipping out your original order as soon as possible. Here’s what you do:

1. place ANOTHER order through our website (pay for your items and the shipping, as per usual)
2. Attach a “note” in your second order, explaining that this is your second order for the day and you would like your items shipped together
3. when we process your second order, we will refund you the cost of your shipping

Please note that your second order must be placed within the same shipping day as the first order.

How long will it take for you to fulfill my order?

Here at Public Myth we pride ourselves on being quick and efficient in all of our business dealings, so we will have your order packed and shipped the same day that you place that order, as long as you have your order in before 3:00pm PST. For all orders placed after the cut-off, they will be processed first thing the next morning and shipped out with the afternoon mail.

How long will it take for my items to arrive?

Delivery times vary, based on your selected shipment method, and your location.

STANDARD SHIPPING to the USA normally arrives within 3-6 business days.

EXPRESS SHIPPING to the USA normally arrives within 1-3 business days, depending on location. 1-2 days for the west coast and up to 3 days for the east coast.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING varies based on location but usually arrives within one week.

How do I track my order?

Once we package and ship your order, we will email you a tracking number, which you will allow you to stalk your order via UPS.

It’s been over a week and my order hasn’t arrived. What should I do?

First, make sure you track your package (using the tracking number we emailed you when we shipped your item), you can track your package via UPS.
If your order shows that it is still in the hands of the delivery company, or has been delivered by them (but did not make it into your hands), you can contact them directly (have your tracking number handy, as they will need it in order to be able to help you out).

Where is my receipt?

At Public Myth we are committed to minimalist packaging and use recycled/recyclable materials wherever possible. To save a few extra trees, we have opted for email-receipts, which can be found in your email inbox. If you can’t seem to find it, please feel free to contact us (with your full name) and we will resend it to you pronto!

I received a damaged/defective/incorrect item. What should I do?

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, mistakes do happen from time to time. All claims for damaged/incorrect merchandise must be made within 7 days. The item(s) being returned/exchanged must be unwashed, unworn, and have the original tags still attached. You must first obtain a “Return Authorization Number” from us by replying to the email invoice that we initially sent you, explaining the situation, and asking for an exchange. Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item and will also notify you of the approval/rejection of your exchange. If it is deemed a defective/incorrect item, we will ship you the correct item as it was our initial error to begin with.

How can I receive my exchange faster?

All exchanges are processed within 1-2 business days after they are received back at Public Myth. However, if you are in need of your exchange quicker than our traditional turn around time you may want to consider placing a new order for the item you need. And returning the original item for refund. Contact us by replying to your order confirmation email or email us directly at sales@publicmyth.com to obtain your RA# and request a refund. Place a new order for the replacement item.  Make sure you select the shipping method that will ensure delivery in the time frame you need. We will ship the new order. Mail the return back to us. Instructions will be provided when RA# is requested. Receive your new replacement order. We will then issue a refund for the original item once it is returned.

Can I return a sale item if it doesn’t fit or if I change my mind?

Unfortunately, no. All of our sales items are final sales.

How do you suggest that I wash my garments?

We have four major categories of fabric & ways in which we suggest you wash them:
-bamboo: cold wash, dry low heat
-bamboo/cotton slub jersey: cold wash, hang to dry
-nylon/spandex: cold wash, hang to dry
-polyster/lycra: cold wash, hang to dry

Will your items shrink?

Failure to follow our care instructions may cause shrinkage in your garments.

What if I entered my shipping information incorrectly or missing information?

Public Myth ships all orders to the shipping address provided by the customer.  If the customer does not properly update the shipping address before completing the order Public Myth must be immediately contacted to see if the information can be corrected. If we are not notified within an hour it is highly unlikely the correction can be made. If the package has already shipped, there is a very limited amount of support we can assist with, but we will go over our options to help get your package on the right track. Public Myth shipping labels are generated by a computerized shipping tool that creates the label based on the zip code/ postal code.  If your zip or postal code is not corrected the shipping label may be created incorrectly.  Public Myth is not responsible for any additional charges needed to reship or retrieve a package. Public Myth is not responsible for any lost packages that the address was incorrectly provided.  If your package is returned to Public Myth, there is a standard $9.00 US/Canadian or $19.00 International fee to have the package reshipped with basic service. You can upgrade to other shipping method for an additional fees. If a customer no longer wants to receive the package after submitting incorrect address information, Public Myth will only refund the merchandise charges when the package is returned to Public Myth. The shipping charge fees will not be refunded.

How do I share my photos of myself wearing your clothing on your Instagram Page?

Add the picture to your own Instagram and then tag us directly in the picture (using @publicmythlife). Then go ahead and hashtag #publicmyth in the description of your picture.
